High Country Espresso Trail

Beechworth's Provender, one of the best coffee stops in the North East Valleys
Not content with having top gourmet producers, hatted restaurants and internationally recognised winemakers, Victoria's High Country, now claims to be 'coffee capital', with its new 'Espresso Trail'. Bean 'geek's should hit the Yarra Valley- High Country culinary touring route to King Valley and make the first stop the Mountain View Hotel. Enjoy a morning coffee and chat with Carlo Pizzini about his coffee sourced from 'Padre', a Brunswick coffee house.
Next stop Milawa Cheese Factory for a Gravity coffee and choice of artisan cheeses, breads, and pastries. It's a difficult choice in Beechworth with 21 cafes, but a 'must try' is St Ali's 'chompy' blend at Larder Fromagerie & Provisions, made from the highest quality Arabica beans, lightly roasted in small batches.
For coffee with a view, stop just before Bright at Boynton's Feathertop Winery, for a special blend of Witham coffee made from hand-picked, high quality green beans.
Leave the mountains and head to the mighty Murray for Rutherglen's, Pickled Sisters Café. Strong fully bodied coffee with nice malty notes, packs a punch with melt in your mouth Scottish shortbread, by Glaswegian chef Stewart Gilchrist, baked to his mum's recipe.
